Pillow Talk will be shown at Hershey Theatre on Sunday, February 12 at 2 p.m. The 1959 romantic comedy stars Rock Hudson, Doris Day and Tony Randall. It was awarded the Oscar for Best Writing (Original Screenplay) and was the first of three movies to showcase the trio of Hudson, Day and Randall. In 2009, it was named to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress for being “culturally, historically or aesthetically” important.
About the film: "Pillow Talk shines as one of the best romantic comedies of the 1950s and ‘60s. From the script to the sets to the gorgeous costumes, the movie portrays a snapshot of Manhattan. Day is a self-sufficient interior decorator with a millionaire suitor (Randall) and a loathing for the anonymous playboy who shares her telephone party line (Hudson). What follows is deception, seduction, betrayal, revenge, and the final triumph of love as only Day and Hudson can deliver."
Tickets are $7 for general admission and are available at the Hershey Theatre Box Office, located at 15 East Caracas Avenue in downtown Hershey. Also available are Hershey Theatre six-packs of tickets for $30; these tickets will be valid for the entire 2011-2012 season.
