Broadway powerhouse Karen Mason opened Philadelphia's new RRAZZ ROOM AT THE PRINCE THEATRE this past Friday, September 18, 2015. Scroll down for photos and highlights from the concert!
Joined alongside the amazing Christopher Denny, her long time friend and collaborator, Ms Mason took the audience on a journey that was both a mini-history of her career - which included opening many a cabaret (ever hear of "Don't Tell Mama"?) -- all the way through to what she called her "new favorite song." (Somewhere, Harold Arlen was smiling.)
She capped the evening being joined by members of the Philadelphia Gay Mens Chorus in a rendition of a song written for her by her talented husband Paul Rolnick ("It's About Time").
The audience included RRAZZ co-owners Robert Kotonly and Rory Paull, as well Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jean Carne, Trudy Melvin (Daughter Of Philadelphia's own musical icon Harold Melvin), Grace Little, Kathy Sledge (of Sister Sledge), and Mr & Mrs Tony DeSare.
