It's going to be a high-energy holiday in the Philadelphia/ Wilmington region when The Media Theatre produces Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" November 20 through January 5. Emmy nominated actor Kyle Lowder, of NBC's "Days of Our Lives" and CBS' "Bold and the Beautiful", puts on the Dreamcoat and adds his powerful vocals to power ballads "Close Every Door" and "Any Dream Will Do" in The Media Music Theatre Company's production. Lowder recently wrapped his run as Stacee Jaxx in the Las Vegas company of Broadway's smash hit "Rock of Ages" and is no stranger to the stage. He studied drama and vocal performance with Italian opera star Dr. Renato Mario Vellunito and was accepted into the School of Visual and Performing Arts at
Syracuse University before moving to LA for his tv and modeling careers. Following his time as "Joseph" he plans to move to NYC with Broadway on the horizon.
Media Music Theatre Company (MMTC) produces each Broadway Series musical at The Media Theatre. Its Artistic Director,
Jesse Cline, will direct Lowder in the inspiring musical based on the story of Joseph and his brothers from the Old Testament. The show is often produced at the holidays and is one of Webber's most popular family musicals. Other songs include "One More Angel In Heaven" and "Go Go Go Joseph" in the show which is almost entirely sung through.
Cline said. "We have a unique vision for this production which will be a treat for audiences. It's a re-imagined Joseph and is going to be the highlight of the holiday season."
MMTC is producing the Mega Mix version of the show, which brings the entire cast back onstage following the finale for a rousing choreographed medley of all of the show's songs.
