The Little Foxes, Lillian Hellman's classic play, may have been written in 1939, but it still packs a powerful punch. David Swartz of Ambler directs the Actors' NET of Bucks County production of Hellman's stage expose of poisonous relationships within a Southern family in the early 20th century, running June 8 – 24 at the Heritage Center in Morrisville.

Theresa Swartz of Ambler stars as Regina Hubbard Giddens, who struggles with her brothers and husband for wealth and independence. Doug Kline of Newtown and John Pinto of Yardley costar as avaricious brothers Oscar and Benjamin Hubbard, along with Ross Druker of Lafayette Hill as Regina's dangerously ill husband, Horace. Before play's end, duplicity, deceptions and death are delivered through stinging dialogue. The Little Foxes also costars Virginia Barrie of Ewing, NJ as Oscar's alcoholic wife, whom he married strictly for her family's money, and Allison Deratzian of North Wales as Regina's daughter, Alexandra.

Also featured are (alphabetically) Luqman Agiya Of King of Prussia, Matthew Cassidy of Morrisville, Mark Swift of Hamilton, NJ and Cheryl Williams of Ewing, NJ. Andrew McManus of Hamilton, NJ stage manages. David Swartz designed the set. Lighting design is by Andrena Wishnie of Morrisville. Ed Correale of Levittown. Costume design is by NET Artistic Director Cheryl Doyle of Morrisville.

The Little Foxes hit Broadway in 1939, starring Tallulah Bankhead. The 1941 film version starred Bette Davis, who won an Academy Award nomination for best actress.

The Little Foxes performs weekends June 8 – 24 at the Heritage Center, 635 N. Delmorr Avenue (Route 32), Morrisville – near the Calhoun Street Bridge. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults, $17 for seniors and $10 for children age 12 and under. Rated PG.
