The brisk, colorful autumn season is an ideal time to experience the spectrum of performances happening now at the Philly Urban Theatre Festival.
Theatre fanatics and urban culture novices alike can enjoy 43 shows in 21 days of comedy, drama, and "chaos" with plays involving love, betrayal, redemption, burglary, teen suicide, life on the "down low" and so much more!
The Philly Urban Theatre Festival opens September 20th and will run nightly at the Adrienne Theatre until October 10th. The Adrienne Theatre is located at 2030 Sansom St.
Phila., PA 19103.

Highlights of the festival include the highly anticipated performances from breakout Philadelphia born actor, Walter DeShields.
Having previously performed in the greater Philadelphia and New York City areas in several productions most recently as Guy in Pearl Cleage's "A Blues for an Alabama Sky". Walter DeShields is creating quite an infectious buzz surrounding his quick- witted comedy and spellbinding stage presence. DeShields will be performing throughout the festival as Trent In Briana Cannon's "Gentle Cycle of Dirty Laundry" and as Devonte in Cheril Clark's popular stage play "Intimate Chaos." His highlight performance will be his role in the award winning sequel to VI Degrees; "VII Deadly Sins" which will take center stage Monday October 4, 2010 through Saturday, October 9 2010 at 8:00p.m. There will also be two Sunday performances on October 10, 2010 at 3:00 and 8:00p.m.
The Philly Urban Theatre Festival is known for producing work representative of Philadelphia's thriving cultural aesthetic.
