The POPS expects to announce the new dates for “Get Up, Stand Up” shortly.
The Philly POPS announced that it has postponed the "Get Up, Stand Up" concerts, originally set for Saturday, February 18th, at the Met.
The performances will be rescheduled soon, POPS officials said, while the organization continues its work to implement a sustainable financial model in the wake of its sudden eviction from the Kimmel Center on January 20th.
"Get Up, Stand Up" originally was scheduled to perform in February at the Kimmel Center, but the loss of the Kimmel as the POPS home venue forced the POPS to search for an alternative site. Earlier this month, the POPS announced that the performances had been rescheduled at the Met Philadelphia for this Saturday, February 18th, at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Today's announcement postpones the show again.
"We apologize to the ticketholders who had made plans to attend 'Get Up, Stand Up' on Saturday, and to the talented POPS musicians who had worked so hard to prepare for these shows," said Karen Corbin, Chief Operating Officer. "We sincerely regret this inconvenience, but we intend to honor these commitments by rescheduling the 'Get Up, Stand Up' performances."
