Philadelphia will be Guaranteed a White Christmas

We might not be able to guarantee the real thing but Irving Berlin's White Christmas, a new stage adaptation of the beloved classic film is coming to the Academy of Music this holiday season. After its acclaimed 2008 Broadway engagement, performances begin here on Nov. 24 and run through Dec. 6.

Tickets are on sale now and range in price from $28 to $100 with VIP boxes available for $125. Part of the Broadway Series, tickets can be purchased by calling 215-731-3333, online at www.kimmelcenter.org/broadway, at the Kimmel Center box office, Broad & Spruce Sts. (open daily 10am to 6pm) or at the Academy of Music box office, Broad & Locust Sts. (open during performances only). Groups of 15 or more will receive discounts for select performances by calling 215-790-5883 or 866-276-2947.

Performances include: Tuesday – Thursday evenings at 7:30pm; Friday & Saturday evenings at 8pm; Sunday evenings at 6:30pm; matinees Fri. Nov. 27 at 2pm; Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 1pm. No performances are scheduled for Thurs. Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving Day).

Irving Berlin's White Christmas tells the story of two showbiz buddies putting on a show in a picturesque Vermont inn, and finding their perfect mates in the bargain. Full of dancing, romance, laughter and some of the greatest songs ever written, including "Count Your Blessings," "Happy Holiday," "Sisters," "Blue Skies," and the unforgettable title song, Irving Berlin's White Christmas promises to be a merry and bright experience for the entire family!

The New York Times claims "this cozy trip down memory lane should be put on your wish list." And, the New York Daily News hailed Irving Berlin's White Christmas as "a holiday card come to life."

Irving Berlin's White Christmas is directed by Tony Award® winner Walter Bobbie (Chicago, Sweet Charity), features a book by David Ives and Paul Blake, choreography by Randy Skinner(42nd Street) who was nominated for a Tony Award® for this production, set design by Anna Louizos (Avenue Q, Curtains), costumes by Carrie Robbins (A Class Act), lighting design by Ken Billington (The Drowsy Chaperone, Annie), sound design by Acme Sound Partners, orchestrations by Larry Blank, also nominated for a Tony Award® for this production, vocal and additional arrangements by Bruce Pomahac, music direction by Rob Berman, and casting by Jay Binder C.S.A.

Irving Berlin's White Christmas is produced by Kevin McCollum, Paul Blake, The Producing Office, Dan Markely and Sonny Everett in association with Paramount Pictures. The stage production is based on the Paramount Pictures film, written for the screen by Norman Krasna, Norman Panama, and Melvin Frank.
