As reported in The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia Theatre Company will be moving back to its Suzanne Roberts Theatre after losing it to bank foreclosure.

$3 million in donations plus a $2 million loan has allowed the company to meet the $5 million purchase price.

The PTC has produced four world premieres byTerrence McNally, who expressed concern last year when the company was first evicted: "It's so important that it does not go under, that the good people of Philadelphia make sure it doesn't. It's too damn important."

The new season will begin October 9th with Ayad Akhtar's Pulitzer-winning DISGRACED.

PTC is a leading regional theater company committed to balancing its Philadelphia roots with a national point of view that combines a taste for adventure with a dedication to new American plays and musicals. Sara Garonzik has been the company's Producing Artistic Director since 1982. Since the company's inception, PTC has supported the work of a growing body of diverse dramatists who have participated in more than 140 world and Philadelphia premieres. More than 50% of PTC's world premieres have moved on to New York and other major cities, helping to earn Philadelphia a national reputation as a hub for new play development.
