The Philadelphia Orchestra Volunteer Committees present their biennial fundraising event, Perfect Harmony: A Festive Fusion of Friends, Music, and Merriment, on Thursday, May 5, at the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Perelman Building. Chaired by Betsy Crowell, Esther Schwartz, and Lisa Weber-Yakulis, the evening includes cocktails, buffet supper catered by Stephen Starr Events, musical presentations by members of the Orchestra, and an opportunity to view two exhibits: Paris through the Window: Marc Chagall and His Circle and The Peacock Male: Exuberance and Extremes in Masculine Dress.

A special feature of the evening is a silent and live auction with items donated by members of The Philadelphia Orchestra. One-of-a-kind experiences offered as part of the auction include a dinner with Chief Conductor Charles Dutoit at a private home; watching a rehearsal on stage and then joining Music Director Designate Yannick Nézet-Séguin for lunch; a private recital by Concertmaster David Kim and First Associate Concertmaster Juliette Kang and dinner for 10 guests catered by Stephen Starr Events; private recitals by individuals and ensembles, including a performance of the famous score from A Charlie Brown Christmas Special by a jazz quintet; an education concert at a school of your choice; a chamber music coaching session; and the opportunity to fill in as fourth musician for a string quartet reading. Several non-musical items donated by musicians include a golf outing with Concertmaster David Kim; a day of biking, skiing, and socializing with Orchestra musicians; and a leather Hermès baton donated by visiting conductor Fabio Luisi.
