On Oscar Night®, Sunday, February 22, 2009, TAP: Traverse Arts Project will celebrate the 81st Annual Academy Awards® at The Ethical Society Building in Rittenhouse Square. The event will be a "friend raiser" and benefit for Traverse Arts Project and its new Philadelphia GLBT Artists Festival.

The Red Carpet Party event is sponsored in part by Specialty Group,LLC and Rain Vodka. Advance tickets are available for purchase at www.partyticketsonline.com Tickets are $50 when purchased in advance and $75 at the door. The tickets provide those in attendance full access to everything that is offered, including an Open Bar featuring specialty cocktails for the evening.

A familiar venue to Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square for many years, The Ethical Society Building is centrally located to public transportation, parking garages, and places to continue with an after party.

Attire for the evening is Black Tie Formal to Blue Jeans Chic, allowing anyone with a great sense of style to feel welcomed to the party.

The evening's festivities will include for all guests a Red Carpet interview with Tony Lankford's DOWNTOWN: The Actors Lounge and a personalized Red Carpet Photo produced by Lui Photography to take as a keepsake. Following their Red Carpet time, the invited guests will join Traverse Arts Project in the Assembly Hall and Auditorium to enjoy viewing the awards ceremony while being treated to an open bar of Vodka Cocktails, Wine, and Beer, a large selection of hors d'oeuvres and desserts, and entertainment by DJ K-Tell. Amanda MacWilliams, Grill Chef at the former Striped Bass Restaurant will serve as the Executive Chef for the event.

The Red Carpet Party is open to the public, and will provide them excellent opportunities to learn about TAP and its new Philadelphia GLBT Artists Festival. For more information, or if you have trouble with purchasing tickets online, contact tdh@traversetheater.org
