Parx Casino, Pennsylvania's #1 casino, announces indie rockers Snow Patrol will perform at the Xcite Center on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 8:00pm. The state-of-the-art Xcite Center will provide an exciting and intimate atmosphere for Philadelphia fans to experience the band's first album in seven years - Wildness, out now via Republic/Polydor Records. The Associated Press calls the new album "a fantastically ambitious collection of songs, one more direct and intimate than many previous Snow Patrol offerings...Wildness signals a triumphant Snow Patrol return." Doors for the show open at 7:00pm. Tickets are $35.00 to $80.00, and are available now by visiting www.parxcasino.com/xcitecenter.
Starting in August, Snow Patrol will criss cross the country on their own headlining tour that includes this stop in Bucks County, plus stops in Valley Center, CA, Columbus, OH, Portland, ME, North Kansas City, MO and Hollywood, FL. Snow Patrol will also support Ed SHeeran on 24 North American stadium dates, which will kick off at Pasadena's Rose Bowl, and include stops in Seattle, Atlanta, Chicago, and Dallas. Starting in December, Snow Patrol will head across the pond for a headlining European tour, with stops in Berlin, Munich, Paris, Madrid, and Lisbon.
Snow Patrol's album Wildness, their first album in seven years, is out now and available for purchase. To celebrate the release of Wildness, Snow Patrol debuted new music videos for "A Youth Written In Fire," "Life and Death," "Wild Horses," "Soon," and "A Dark Switch." The band has previously released music videos for "Empress" "What If This Is All The Love You Ever Get?," "Life On Earth," and "Don't Give In."
Since their 1998 debut, Songs for Polarbears, Snow Patrol has racked up an impressive number of critical and commercial accolades, including 15 million global album sales, 1+ billion global track streams, five UK Platinum Albums, and are Grammy, BRIT Award and Mercury Music Prize nominated. After their Fallen Empires tour ended in 2012, band members -which also include multi-instrumentalist Johnny McDaid, guitarist Nathan Connolly, bassist Paul Wilson, and drummer Jonny Quinn - decided to take a step back from the band, and focus on their own projects. Gary Lightbody continued his work with his Tired Pony side project with members of Belle and Sebastian, R.E.M, Reindeer Section and Fresh Young Fellows and moved to Los Angeles to begin writing songs for movies (including "This Is How You Walk On" for 2017's Gifted), and doing a number of high-profile co-writes with Ed SHeeran, Taylor Swift, Biffy Clyro, and One Direction. Taking this extended break from Snow Patrol proved to be a source of inspiration, and writing songs that were not pulled directly from his own psyche helped heal what Lightbody considered to be not so much writer's block as life block.
Tickets for this performance are on sale now at the Parx Casino Box office, or online at www.parxcasino.com. The Xcite Center is located at 2999 Street Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020.
Snow Patrol fans are invited to two new dining options when they visit the Xcite Center. For reservations for dinner and drinks before the show at the new Liberty Bell Gastropub and Oliveto, please visit www.parxcasino.com.
