New Cavern Productions (NCP) will present the hit rock musical The Who's Tommy, playing July 11-27 at the newly built Theatre Horizon in Norristown, PA. The show features an incredible showcase of student actors, directors, and designers who have built a spectacle that is sure to electrify all audience members.

Based on the 1969 Who album of the same name, Pete Townshend's tale of a young boy's journey from pain to triumph is an exhilarating evening of rock and roll. After witnessing his father murder his mother's lover, Tommy is traumatized into catatonia, rendering him deaf, dumb, and blind. As the boy grows, he suffers abuse at the hands of his sadistic relatives and neighbors until, as an adolescent, he's discovered to have an uncanny knack for playing pinball...

This will be NCP's first full-length production. The company, which launched in November 2013, is run entirely by local college students with a shared vision of creating a collaborative network of student artists in which all art forms can thrive and gain exposure. The company's mission is to expand the current theatre community by designing productions that will appeal to a non-traditional audience

Tommy has brought together young professionals from across the East Coast; the cast and production team includes students from University of the Arts, Boston Conservatory, Point Park University and American University, to name a few.

Tickets, directions, and free parking details can be found at www.newcavern.org. Arrive early to enjoy free pinball and more!
