The Covenant House "Night of Broadway Stars" will take place tonight, May 13th at the KimMel Center. The evening will feature performances by top Broadway stars to poignant stories told by homeless youth about how Covenant House has changed their lives. Attendees will get an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Broadway actors and homeless youth perform live on stage together.
Renowned lyricist, composer Neil Berg, will host the star-studded evening. The evening will also include a revue of performances by some of Broadway's greatest performers, including Capathia Jenkins, Carter Calvert, John Tracey Egan, Stephanie Block, William Michaels, David Elder and Rita Harvey.
All proceeds raised by the evening will benefit programs serving at risk and homeless youth in the Delaware Valley-area. This year Covenant House Pennsylvania is hoping to raise over $500,000, which will provide funding for operational costs, program development, and aid the organization in continuing to lead the Philadelphia region in street outreach programs.
