Nunsense, now celebrating its 25th anniversary year, has more than 5,000 productions worldwide, it has been translated into 21 languages and --- is making its Hedgerow Theatre premiere June 11-28!

Cast members Susan Wefel, Sarah Gafgen, Heidi Starr, Maggie Cogswell and Micki Sharpe will portray the Little Sisters of Hoboken who decide to put on a fundraiser after their cook accidentally poisons 52 of their fellow sisters.

Micki Sharpe, the show's equity guest artist and director, began her career at Hedgerow and went on to play in the original Philadelphia company of Nunsense 25 years ago -- a production which ran for four years at Society Hill Playhouse.

She has over 1,500 performances of the show under her veil including two sequels and a tour with Edie Adams at the Valley Forge and Westbury Music Fairs. She was last seen on the Hedgerow stage in 2007, when she joined Hedgerow veteran Susan Wefel in Radio Gals.

Micki will portray Sr. Mary Regina (a/k/a Reverend Mother) in the Hedgerow production. She said, "Playing the part of Sr. Regina will mark the third role I have played inNunsense.

I am getting to experience the show from almost every nuns' point of view! Maybe I should just join the convent and get it over with," she added jokingly.
Hedgerow Theatre company members Susan Wefel, Sarah Gafgen and Maggie Cogswell and guest artist Heidi Starr join Sharpe for this "habit forming" show. Ms. Starr, a professional voice teacher, is also well-known for her Opera Night performances at the Media Fellini's café, a program she initiated.

Nunsense previews Thursday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m.; opens June 12 and continues performances Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. There are also Wednesday matinees at 1 p.m. (which include complimentary tea party intermissions) June 17 and 24. Tickets are $22 on Wednesdays; $28 Fridays and $30 Saturdays and Sundays; with $3 discounts for seniors and $12 for age 18 and under. Preview tickets are $20.
