Mark Indelicato, Philadelphia native and star of the smash hit ABC Television series "Ugly Betty," will return to his hometown when he joins the faculty of THE BROADWAY DREAMS FOUNDATION'S (BDF) Summer Performing Arts Intensive Program. The 15 year old actor, who is best known as fashion-obsessed Justin Suarez on the Emmy nominated series, will spend a day at the program participating in a Q&A session and performing alongside the students in the final concert. BDF's Summer Performing Arts Intensive Program will be held at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts (300 South Broad Street) Tuesday, August 4 through Saturday, August 9, 2009.

Mark Indelicato has quickly proven himself a talent to watch as he gains prominence in America's eye as Justin Suarez on the smash hit ABC show Ugly Betty. Like most dedicated actors, Indelicato got his start in live theater, starring in La Vie En Bleu and A Christmas Carol on the main stage at Philadelphia's historic and respected Walnut Street Theatre. His work in those productions garnered him a role in the Walnut Street Theatre's staged reading of Fame Forever, which, in turn, went on to enjoy strong success in New York just a few months later. Indelicato trained at the The Actors Center in Philadelphia and started his vocal training at the age of six with Sal Dupree in NJ.

Mark Indelicato joins previously announced faculty members and Broadway stars Paul Canaan (Legally Blonde), Eden Espinosa (Wicked), Billy Porter (Grease, Miss Saigon), Amanda Guettel (Sweet Charity), Lili Cooper (Spring Awakening), Carlos L. Encinias (Les Miserables) and Blake Daniel (Spring Awakening). BDF students will also benefit from the instruction of Los Angeles based celebrity vocal coach Dave Barrus (Les Miserables), composer Jeremy Schonfeld, Clear Talent Group agent Jamie Harris and Telsey + Company casting directors Craig Burns and Rachel Hoffman.

The goal of the non-profit BROADWAY DREAMS FOUNDATION is to bring young talent closer to their Broadway dreams, regardless of their financial status, through an intensive week-long Broadway training program lead by some of Broadway's brightest stars. BDF students will perform a "one night only" concert alongside the Broadway faculty on Friday, August 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Perelman Theater. Acceptance into the program is by application only. Tuition for the program is $1,095.00 per student. Scholarship awards are available to students who qualify.

Final auditions for the Summer Performing Arts Intensive Program will be held on Saturday, August 1 at the Mercks Arts Education Center located on Tier 2 of the Kimmel Center. To register, please visit: www.mybroadwaydreams.com or call 484.467.8236 with questions or for further information.

The BDF Summer Performing Arts Intensive brings together faculty members and 150 students for the most demanding, inspiring and career shaping summer workshop in the country. Students audition for vocal placement within the program and will be invited to audition with NY casting director Craig Burns for a lead role in the final showcase. Each student's track is an individual placement to provide the best possible learning experience. During the course of the week, all students will participate in educational classes on audition skills (focusing on song selection and cold readings) vocal coaching, pop stylings, career planning, college preparation, dance and head shots & resumes. A considerable portion of the week will be spent rehearsing the final showcase - a revue style concert in which the students will perform alongside our renowned faculty. During the rehearsal period, BDF students will learn first hand the dedication and talent required to put together a Broadway caliber show.
