All shows take place at the new Luna Theater at 620. S. 8th Street (between South and Bainbridge). Tickets are $15-$25 and can be purchased by visiting www.lunatheater.org or by calling 215-704-0033.

DUE TO GRAPHIC CONTENT (VIOLENCE, SEXUAL SITUATIONS, NUDITY) ALL THREE SHOWS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR MATURE AUDIENCES.

The infamous Marquis de Sade, author of scandalous literary works, has been spending his days locked away in the Charenton Insane Asylum. Despite his imprisonment, the clever Marquis continues to write--that is, until his selfish wife, together with the newly appointed head of the asylum set about depriving the incorrigible Marquis of his quills and paper. The Marquis, however, will stop at nothing to fulfill his artistic ambitions; no matter what the cost, no matter what the sacrifice, he will not be censored.

Grand Guignol, popularized in the late 20th Century at Le Theatre du Grand Guignol in Paris, is a highly stylized form of theater . Grand Guignol consists of graphic, darkly comic, and sometimes overly sexualized scenes and short plays in which horror is the primary motivation: "The sensational stagecraft of the Grand Guignol-thunder sheets, blood packets, rubber body parts and sleight of hand-all might find a home onstage. Before appealing to the audience's hearts or minds, the play endeavors to appeal to forces far more primal."-Doug Wright.
