The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts has announced the appointment of Leslie Patterson-Tyler as its new Director of Media Relations & Communications.
Patterson-Tyler joins the Kimmel staff from Tyler-Made Productions, LLC., where she served, since 2008, as President and CEO. There, she formed a relationship with the Kimmel Center, elevating their profile through marketing, media relations, community relations for performances including the Kathleen Battle Underground Railroad concert, A Soulful Christmas, and Motown the Musical.
"Leslie brings a strong background in media relations to the Kimmel Center," said Kimmel Center President and CEO Anne Ewers. "Her experience and expertise will be a tremendous addition to our team of marketing and communications professionals with new energy and ideas toward our goal of strengthening the Kimmel Campus' reputation and identity."
Patterson-Tyler will be charged with expanding Kimmel's media coverage through local, regional and national media outlets, while also fostering relationships with the local communities.

Also during her time with Tyler-Made Productions, LLC., Patterson-Tyler served as Public Relations Director for the historic Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she significantly increased the congregation's local, national, and international profile strategies. She also served for over 25 years as a television news manager in Cincinnati, Miami, Washington, DC, and Philadelphia's own Fox29 as Assistant News Director.
Patterson-Tyler graduated with a B.A. degree from Xavier University in her home town of Cincinnati, Ohio and is a 2011 Fellow of Leadership Philadelphia, and a distinguished Fellow of McCormick Tribune. She also served as Adjunct Professor at Temple University in the Department of Broadcasting, Telecommunications, and Mass Media. As a committed community advocate, Mrs. Patterson-Tyler is also a member of the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross where she holds the position of Secretary and Co-Chair of the Diversity Donor Committee; Co-President of the Meredith Elementary Home and School Association; and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rho Theta Omega Chapter.
Mrs. Patterson Tyler resides in the Philadelphia area with her husband the Rev. Dr. Mark Kelly Tyler. They have four wonderful children.
