Enjoy a little Q&A with the evening's star:
NC: Who do you think should run for president in two years?
KS: Whoever is going to keep gas prices down.. seriously.. I do the most amount of commuting there is! But really, as long as they are liberal, I don't care.. duh.
NC: What's the best book you've read so far this year? Ever?
KS: So far this year.. definitely "Bossypants" by
Tina Fey.. I'm a HUGE fan of hers and her book made me an even bigger fan. A strong, successful woman who is funny? Sign me up. My favorite book of all time is "Catcher in the Rye".. not sure why.. loved it, and it just has always been my answer to that question!
NC: What makes you feel afraid?
KS: Spiders and centipedes... mostly centipedes. I've gotten much better about spiders. Centipedes however, haunt my dreams.
NC: What's your most embarrassing childhood memory?
KS: Really? Tripping, peeing my pants, my early 90s super curly hair with thick straight across bangs? There were so many. Honestly, it's very hard to embarrass me anymore.
NC: If you had the option of adopting a baby fox or baby koala, which one would you choose?
KS: That's an extremely difficult question! I guess a baby fox? I googled it and they are so freaking cute!
NC: If you weren't a professional actress, what would be your dream job be?
KS: If there was any other dream job, I'd be pursuing it. Ha! But maybe a writer or a veterinarian.
NC: Who was your first crush?
KS: He was my first "boyfriend". His name was Luke, we were in kindergarten and he gave me a blue heart ring and dinosaur erasers for Valentine's Day. Also,
Jonathan Taylor Thomas. We were going to get married. He was my first love.
NC: If you got a (new) tattoo, what would it be of?
KS: If I knew, I probably would have gotten it already! They are very addicting.
NC: What would you like to eat for your last meal?
KS: Sushi and tacos (with lots of Cholula). No question.
NC: If you had to be on a reality TV show, which one would you choose?
KS: The Bachelorette! Who wouldn't want 25 hunky men all vying for your love and attention?! ..So I'm a little boy crazy...
NC: What inspired you to be a performer/singer?
KS: Honestly, it's hard to remember what initially sparked it because I started so young, but I am constantly inspired. Mostly by my peers, directors I've worked with, inspiring pieces I've seen, etc.
NC: What made you pick the genre/songs you're performing?
KS: I've always loved finding obscure shows and songs. Rarely are some of these productions done and this was a really good excuse to get re-familiarized with some great music! I feel personally connected to every one of the songs I chose for different reasons and am delighted to get to sing them.
NC: What are you most excited about for your performance?
KS: I'm excited to sing these songs and expose the audience to some possibly unfamiliar pieces that they may end up loving and becoming
a fan of!
