Totem Pole Playhouse is proud to welcome back to The Playhouse, John Putch, to direct the hilarious Neil Simon comedy, 45 Seconds From Broadway, opening in June 2010. John Putch began his professional career at the age of five, performing in the Totem Pole Playhouse production of Showboat in 1966. He is the son of the former Playhouse Artistic Director, the late William H. Putch, and actress Jean Stapleton. For well over 20 years, John has enjoyed a successful career in television and film, both as an actor and director. His television directing credits include: "Scrubs," "Cougar Town," "My Name Is Earl," "Ugly Betty," "Grounded For Life," "Son Of The Beach" and multiple television movies and mini-series. Notable film directing credits include: Valerie Flake, Bachelorman, Mojave Phone Booth, American Pie: The Book of Love, and Route 30. The sequel to Route 30, Route 30, TOO!, begins production in Franklin and Adams County in the Fall of 2010.

"some of the best theater I've ever experienced has been at the Totem Pole Playhouse. I look forward to stepping into the director's chair and doing my best not to screw it up. They do have chairs for the director....right?"
-John Putch

We'll find a chair for you, John. If anything, we will just give you Ray's!
