Music and romance return to Rose Valley as Hedgerow Theatre presents All I Ask of You -- A Musical Revue showcasing love songs from Broadway and film. The special event, which played to sold-out houses in at the theatre last year and in other area venues, will have only six performances from tonight, June 21 to 23 and June 28 to 30. The shows are at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays.

The revue is directed by John D. Smitherman, who has delighted Hedgerow audiences in his three previous musical appearances at the theatre. He also performed in last summer's Ray Cooney farce, Not Now, Darling. The multi-talentEd Smitherman is also an actor and playwright, who has published several farces and has sung internationally as one of the original Three American Tenors.

All I Ask of You spotlights selections from shows and movies such as Carousel, Showboat, Oklahoma, The Music Man, Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, Titanic, South Pacific, Phantom of the Opera and many others. The members of the cast are Sarah Lynn Dewey, Aileen Goldberg, Shoshana Katz, Damian Shembel, and John D. Smitherman, all college-trained professional singers and actors who were selected by Smitherman in auditions for his Places Please Production Company. They've performed this revue in Philadelphia and at several theaters in northern New Jersey. They're accompanied by pianist/music director Mark Yurkanin and violinist Claudia Pellegrini. The choreographer is Kimberly Topper.

"We're thrilled to welcome back John and his talented troupe of musicians," said Producing Artistic Director Penelope Reed. "Our intimate theatre is the perfect place to showcase these fabulous singers since they don't need microphones in our small space. We received so many positive comments from those in attendance at previous revues about how wonderful it was to hear their natural, unamplified voices."

Adult ticket prices for Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows are $32. There is a $3 discount for seniors; tickets for students with valid ID and children under 18 are $10. For groups of 10 or more, tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors. Prices include all fees and are subject to change. For reservations, call 610-565-4211, or visit www.hedgerowtheatre.org.
