Can we talk? Of course we can. Join us for An Evening With Joan Rivers on Saturday, May 2 at 8:00 PM at the Gershman Y (Broad and Pine Streets). The Gershman Y's annual fundraiser will feature Joan River's only Philadelphia appearance in a stand-up performance showcasing her signature comedy and sarcastic humor.

Ticket prices range from $54-$158 and are available by calling 215-545-4400 or online at www.gershmany.org beginning March 17. Sponsorships are also available starting at $1,000 by calling 215-446-3022. Tickets at $158 and all sponsorships feature an exclusive post-show reception with Joan Rivers.

Joan Rivers is a force of nature - comedienne, best-selling author, Tony-nominated actress, playwright, screenwriter, Emmy Award-winning television talk show host, jewelry designer, fashionista, businesswoman, mother and bubbe. A pioneering performer who introduced female angst into stand-up comedy, she is the arbiter of style each year on the Academy Award's red carpet. Most recently, Joan Rivers appeared as a contestant on Donald Trump's "The Apprentice." This past year, Rivers also published two books: Murder at the Academy Awards and Men Are Stupid . . . And They Like Big Boobs : A Woman's Guide to Beauty Through Plastic Surgery.

Joan's career skyrocketed in 1968 when she appeared on "The Tonight Show" starring Johnny Carson. Within three years she was hosting "That Show with Joan Rivers," one of the first syndicated daytime shows, and went on to become the first permanent guest host of "The Tonight Show." Her own "The Late Show starring Joan Rivers" helped launch the Fox Network in 1986. In 1989, she returned to daytime television with "The Joan Rivers Show," winning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host the following year and her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In 1990, she launched the Joan Rivers Classics Collection of fashion jewelry and a continually expanding line of health products on QVC, achieving unprecedented success with a record-breaking 500 million dollars plus in sales to date. Along with her daughter Melissa, she brought her style-savvy fashion sense to host E!'s red-carpet events from 1996-2004 and continued their "must-see" red carpet coverage for the TV Guide Channel.

Her one-woman shows in London, Edinburgh, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sydney and Melbourne have been sold-out and have garnered enthusiastic critical and audience response.

An Evening with Joan Rivers is the Gershman Y's major fundraising event to support programs, including the Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival, lectures and discussions on literature, the arts, and contemporary issues, and photography exhibits, all while retaining our commitment to Jewish culture and identity.
