The N Crowd turns four this April. Like all excited children, they are excited about their upcoming "birthday party." On Friday, April 24, popular short-form improv group will be hosting the festivities. The celebration will be held at the Actors Center, 257 N. 3rd Street. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets cost $10. Tickets are available by calling 215-253-4276 or online at www.phillyncrowd.com. Advance tickets are recommended.

Short-form improv is created through a series of games that are prompted by suggestions from the audience. For this show, the group will perform for 100 minutes. With each new game, a unique piece of comic theater unfolds. For audiences unfamiliar with the format, it is similar to Whose Line is it Anyway.

"We've done shows every single week for quite a while. It's easy to forget that there was a time when every week we thought this might be our last show," said The N Crowd Executive Director B.J. Ellis. "The continued success of The N Crowd can be directly related to the continued support of the people of Philadelphia."

This show marks the fourth straight year of N Crowd performances for B.J. Ellis, Mike Connor, Brandon Libby, and Jessica Snow, all founding members of the group. This is also the fourth anniversary show for Kristen Schier and Natalie Sandone who joined the troupe several months after The N Crowd started. It marks the second anniversary show for host Matt Nelson and it is the first anniversary show for new member Dan Rich. Original member StEve Cohen has rejoined the troupe and will return for this show.

The N Crowd performs weekly and in the past year has created memorable comic moments in front of more than 2500 people. Besides performing weekly, The N Crowd has appeared at Fergie's Pub, the Trocadero Balcony Bar, the Melange Theater, and Philly Fringe. The troupe has performed during Philly Fringe, The Philadelphia Improv Festival, and has been invited to perform at Village Productions new Tri-Pac facility in Pottstown.
