On the heels of winning a Barrymore for Best New Play and the prestigious Brown Martin Award for their hit Slip/Shot, Flashpoint Theatre Company has announced its 2012-2013 season. Their season begins this December with their annual Holiday Repertory Show and then it continues with two World Premieres in the New Year. Tickets and more information are available at www.flashpointtheatre.org.

Their first show is their 9th Annual Holiday Rep show (running December 6 - 23, 2012, Off-Broad Street Theatre). This show includes their annual presentation of The Santaland Diaries and Chlamydia for Christmas and Herpes for Hanukkah: More Sex-Ed Burlesque for the Holidays. The Santaland Diaries is written by David Sedaris and adapted by Joe Mantello. This year it will star Keith Conallen and will be directed by Matt Pfeiffer. For the first in Flashpoint's history, Conallen -- long time Flashpoint artist and Barrymore Award nominee -- takes the role of Crumpet, David Sedaris's lovable, curmudgeonly Macy's Elf. Once again, the company brings audiences another year of vicious laughter and heartwarming holiday spirit. Chlamydia for Christmas and Herpes for Hanukkah: More Sex-Ed Burlesque for the Holidays is written and performed by Gigi Naglak and MeghAnn Williams. The show is directed by Amy Smith.

The season continues with the World Premiere of The Bends by Megan Mostyn-Brown. (Running March 13 - 31, 2013, Off-Broad Street Theatre) Directed by Barrymore nominee Kathryn MacMillan, this dark and hilarious new work, centers around Gemma, who returns home to see her college friends for the first time in many years. What could possible go wrong? Megan Mostyn-Brown (LAByrinth Theatre Company) spins a Bacchanalian tale of what happens when the past and present collide in a single house….and then drink a lot of wine. The Bends is a story that proves that you can always come home again. It just won't always be pretty.

Flashpoint’s season closes with the World Premiere of Philadelphia actress Aimé Donna Kelly’s Planta me en la Tierra (June 2013, Theatre TBD). With Castro's Revolution at hand, Juanita and Chan Chan must decide between the land they love and a future in America. This tale of poetry, beauty, and tragedy is the first ever produced by acclaimed local artist Aimé Donna Kelly, and asks the question of where "home" really is. This poetic and epic tale, directed by K. ElizaBeth Stevens, is about what happens when one must choose between where their heart lives and where their future lies.

Flashpoint Theatre Company produces socially provocative and emotionally resonant works of new and Contemporary Theatre in the greater Philadelphia area, while giving voice to a diverse group of emerging artists.
