As a grand finale to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Grammy Award-winning singer Harry Connick Jr. will be the featured performer at Philadelphia's famed Academy of Music on Saturday, October 30, 2010 for Rock the Ribbon - the 10th anniversary celebration and benefit concert for Breastcancer.org.

In the 10 years since its founding, Breastcancer.org has become the world's leading online breast cancer resource, reaching more than 27 million people across the globe with the most reliable, comprehensive, and up-to-date medical information and much-needed peer support. Breastcancer.org serves those affected by breast cancer by helping them better understand complex medical information, guiding them through their medical and emotional journey, and connecting them with an empathetic, supportive peer community.

Proceeds from Rock the Ribbon will help fund enhancements to Breastcancer.org's current online content and expand its reach through Spanish translation tools, mobile applications, video programming, and an expanded risk reduction initiative.

Amanda Westphal Radcliffe and Sheri Lambert, both members of the Breastcancer.org Board of Directors, are the co-chairs of Rock the Ribbon.

Philadelphia native, nationally recognized singer, songwriter, and cancer survivor Lauren Hart will serve as emcee for the night's festivities. Singer, pianist and songwriter Tony DeSare will be the featured performer at the pre-concert Sponsors' Reception.

"This is a tremendous milestone for Breastcancer.org and a special time to pay tribute to the many women with breast cancer and their family and friends who love and support them," said Dr. Marisa Weiss, president and founder of Breastcancer.org. "We are incredibly thankful to Harry Connick, Jr. for what is sure to be a memorable evening and to Genentech, our presenting sponsor of the event and a valued and enduring supporter of Breastcancer.org."

Other corporate sponsors across the country have lined up to support Rock the Ribbon, including Vertex, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Eisai, Halcyon Days Salon & Spa, Marquis Jet, Novartis Oncology, Stonyfield Farm, and Wilmington Trust, among others.

The Rock the Ribbon concert with Harry Connick, Jr begins at 8 PM. Tickets can be purchased through www.breastcancer.org/rocktheribbon or by calling Ticket Philadelphia at 215-893-1999.
