Back by popular demand Flashpoint Theatre Company presents David Sedaris's *The Santaland Diaries*, adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello, December 1 - December 19, 2010. *David Sedaris *is the author of *Barrel Fever *and *Holidays on Ice*, as well as collections of personal essays, *Naked*, *Me Talk Pretty One Day*, *Dress Your Family in Corduroy and* *Denim*, and *When You Are Engulfed in Flames*, each of which became a bestseller. There are a total of seven million copies of his books in print and they have been translated into 25 languages. He was the editor of *Children Playing Before a Statue of* *Hercules: An Anthology of Outstanding Stories*. Sedaris's pieces appear regularly in *The* *New Yorker *and have twice been included in "The Best American Essays." He and his sister, Amy Sedaris, have collaborated under the name
"The Talent Family" and have written half-a-dozen plays, which have been produced at La Mama, Lincoln Center, and The Drama Department in New York City. These plays include *Stump the Host*, *Stitches*, *and One Woman Shoe*, which received an Obie Award, *Incident at Cobbler's Knob*, and *The* *Book of Liz*, which was published in book form by Dramatists Play Service. David Sedaris's original radio pieces can often be heard on This American Life, distributed nationally by Public Radio International and produced by WBEZ. David Sedaris has been nominated for three Grammy Awards for Best Spoken Word and Best Comedy Album. Flashpoint founder *Derick Loafmann *is back for the sixth season in as row as Crumpet the Elf. Loafmann was last seen on the Flashpoint stage in *boom*, *The House of Yes*, and *Schoolgirl Figure*. Loafmann has also been seen in

*Twelfth Night *(Delaware Shakespeare Festival), *The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) *(Little Fish Theatre Company), and *Last Night of Ballyhoo *(Montgomery Theater).

New director to the production and seasoned staff member of Flashpoint, *Noah Herman *directed Peter Nachtrieb's *boom* with Flashpoint last season. Other directorial credits include *Lost in Yonkers* (Broadway Theatre of Pitman) and *Vinegar Tom* (Civic Theatre of Allentown). In 2006, his production of Israel Horovitz' *Lebensraum* performed and won top honors at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region II. Noah is a graduate of Muhlenberg College where he studied acting and directing. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of 1812 Productions where he will assistant direct *Our Show of Shows* and *Laughter on the 23rd Floor* this Spring. Other assistant directing credits include *Any Given Monday* (Theatre Exile and Act II Playhouse) and *The Four of Us* (1812). Noah is a proud member of ComedySportz Philadelphia, the 2010 World Comedy League Champions.* *

The production team includes Flashpoint founder *Gigi Naglak* as Costume Designer and Flashpoint favorites, *John Glaubitz* as Sound Designer and *Melanie Leeds* as Stage Manager.

Flashpoint Theatre Company is dedicated to promoting cultural arts awareness in the Greater Philadelphia area through the production of socially provocative and emotionally resonant works of theatre, through the development of educational programming within the community, and through collaboration with new and emerging artists from all artistic disciplines. Founded in 2003 by five graduates of Drew University, Flashpoint's first six seasons have included fifteen Philadelphia premieres and one world premiere, several readings of new plays as part of the High Voltage Workshop Series, and numerous outreach events including artist talkbacks, benefit performances of Eve Ensler's *The Vagina Monologues*, and special matinees for local high school students.
