The State Theatre Center for the Arts has announced that Easton Hospital has become the principal sponsor of its gallery space, which includes the main gallery and gallery annex.
"The arts play a fundamental role in the healing process, and State Theatre is the premiere venue for art and culture in the Easton area," comments Easton Hospital CEO John Zidansek. "It seems natural that Easton Hospital would be involved, that intersection where art and science come together to create a medicine that transforms patients, families and communities. It's right where we want to be and what's kept our organizations and this community strong for generations."
The Easton Hospital Gallery and Annex at the State Theatre features exhibits of local artists through a programming partnership with ACE (Arts Community of Easton). Each season, the State Theatre also produces its own photography exhibit in conjunction with the FREDDY© Awards. Local community groups and musical acts are often invited to perform before main stage performances.
Opening September 21st are the annual ACE Member Juried Group Show in the main gallery and photographer Frank Smith's The River's Edge - A Compilation of Lehigh Parkway Scenes in the gallery annex. Artist receptions are scheduled for October 4th for ACE and November 8th for Frank Smith. The Easton Hospital Gallery is open 90 minutes prior to most main stage performances.
The contemporary space, which has its own entrance at 5th & Northampton Street, also functions as a pre-show bar on show nights, is used for receptions, special events and rehearsals, and provides a source of rental income for the Center for the Arts.
