There's a body in Fader's Bog and no one knows how it got there. Or who put it there. That's the premise of the new golf themed murder mystery "Death on the 16th Fairway" which premieres June 5-16 at The Media Theatre.

Conceived and written by avid golfer and investment adviser Art Leahy, it is the story of Ryan's Way Country Club, an exclusive golf, dining, and fitness facility. The show is a fictional creation based on Leahy's behind-the-scenes experience as a golf club member and financial professional.

In the show, being produced during the US Open held at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore. a body is discovered at Fader's Bog on the course's signature hole, Hole 16. The story takes off from that point, with interesting-and, at times, humorous-characters as everyone tries to figure out what has happened during the Ryan's Way Country Club 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Walt Bender makes his Media Theatre debut as Tyler Flagg, the Ryan's Way Golf Course supervisor. He has been seen in productions at Montgomery Theatre and Dutch Country Players and has been performing for four decades.

Roger Ricker, veteran of over 85 productions, will take on the humorous role of Lt. Hazard. Media's own Ryan Leahy will now portray Bogey the Bartender at all performances.

Other cast members are: John Baxter, seen in "Annie" and "Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical" at The Media Theatre as well as "The Jungle Book", who portrays the role of Alistair Lane. Media resident and well known thespian and educator Jim Conte will appear as President Woods.

The cast also includes several making Media Theatre debuts: Chelsea Grace Claiser, Hilary Kayle Crist, Danny Donnelly, Meredith Mitchell, Susan Ross, Katherine Schellman, Zeah Solomon, Aimee Theresa, and Anthony Womack.

Emmy Award winning sportscaster Jim Kelly will narrate the production on June 5, 6, 7, and 9. Each performance is designated as a fundraiser for various non-profit organizations, including The Media Theatre's State Street Miracles, USO, Autism Speaks, The PA Veterans Museum, Musictopia, and Philabundance. Jesse Cline directs the premiere performance.

The production is being presented, and was the reason behind, Media borough's Golf Month due to the US Open being held in Ardmore.
