Buddy Holly returns to The Media Theatre February 20 through the 22. Bennett Dunn will captivate audiences once again as the father of Rock and RollTM, as he did during the run of the Buddy musical here in 2008.
This time, the focus is entirely on the music as Dunn and friends portray Buddy and the Crickets in "The Night the Music Lived," which commemorates the 50 year anniversary of the day the music died (February 3, 1959). A portion from each ticket sold will benefit The Media Theatre"sTM programming and capital improvements.
"Thousands of people enjoyed hearing the hits of Buddy Holly as performed by Bennett Dunn when we produced the musical 'Buddy' last season", explained Media Theatre Executive Director Patrick Ward. "People were dancing in the aisles and having a great time. This fundraising event promises to be more of the same."
Steve Trevelise, of WIPSportsRadio, will be Buddy's opening act with his stand-up comedy act and warm up the audience for the music of the Crickets. There will be a special evening dedicated to local Veterans on Saturday February 21.
