Broadway Dreams and The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts will ring in 2017 with a free performance at 4:15 pm on Sunday, January 1, 2017 on the Commonwealth Plaza Level of the Kimmel Center. Broadway performers and approximately 60 Philadelphia-area Broadway Dreams students will come together to perform musical selections celebrating the Kimmel Center's Broadway season. Parade-enthusiasts can warm up indoors while enjoying a bird's eye view of Philadelphia's historical Mummers Parade while hearing the sounds of Broadway. Families are welcome to participate in a wide variety of fun activities from 10 am - 5 pm.
The free concert will feature selections from the 2015 Tony Award-winning musical Fun Home, The King and I, Wicked, Motown The Musical, The Bodyguard, Cabaret and Dirty Dancing. Directed by Broadway Dreams alum, Greg Kamp (Catch Me if You Can), the unique Broadway concert will feature performances by Ari Groover (Holler if Ya Hear Me), MiMi Scardulla (Gigantic), Lee Slobotkin (Wicked), and music directors Dave Barrus (Chess), and Chris Brent Davis (Suzi Bass Award-winner for Miss Saigon).

Each year hundreds of students receive valuable training through Broadway Dreams programs offered in partnership with Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Broadway Dreams (Annette Tanner, Founder and President), a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization established in 2006, provides youth and young adults of all socioeconomic backgrounds with performance training, life skills building, and mentorship opportunities from the entertainment industry's most distinguished talents.
