Bristol Riverside Theater Opens 'WINTER MUSICALE' 12/11-21

Bristol Riverside Theatre celebrates the holiday season with its Winter Musicale from December 11 - 21, 2008. Conceived and directed by Artistic Director Keith Baker, this BRT tradition for the entire family features an evening of traditional carols, popular classics, contemporary arrangements and even original songs, such as "Do You Hear What I Hear," "Merry Christmas Baby," "Go Tell It On the Mountain," "Baby, It's Cold Outside," "The Little Drummer Boy," and "12 Days of Christmas."

Tickets are $29, $25 for BRT members and $10 for students and are available by calling the Box Office at (215) 785-0100 or visiting the theatre at 120 Radcliffe Street in Bristol, with information online at www.brtstage.org.

The Winter Musicale features a cast of stellar singers, who are BRT regulars and audience favorites, and the BRT band performing original contemporary arrangements. Sharon Alexander has performed for five seasons in BRT's Summer Musicale Series and has been seen at BRT in The Rothschilds, Alive and Well, Zorba, She Loves Me, Brigadoon, Inspecting Carol, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

Demetria Joyce Bailey was most recently seen at BRT singing the songs of Broadway's divas in Broadway Baby. Other roles include Ethel Waters, Ethel Waters His Eye is on the Sparrow (2007 Barrymore Award Best Actress Nominee in a Musical), Lutiebell in Purlie, Mrs. Ott in Susannah, Chiffon in Little Shop of Horrors, Susannah in Tintypes, and Charlane Woodard in Ain't Misbehavin'.

Laura Catlaw last appeared at BRT as the Irish angel Monica in Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge. Her credits include the first national tour of The Backyardigans with Nickelodeon, Hair and Striking 12 (Prince Music Theatre); A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Arden Theatre Co), and most recently Reefer Madness (joint production between Montgomery Theatre and 11th Hour Theatre Co.). Up next is Jihad Jones with Interact Theatre Co in the spring.

Phillip Chaffin was seen at BRT in this summer's Come Rain or Come Shine. His credits include the Broadway premiere of Alan Menken and Tim Rice's King David and regional performances in On the Town, Damn Yankees, Song of Singapore, and Oklahoma!, among others. He is featured on a number of studio cast recordings including the Gershwins' Tell Me More and Pardon My English, and the highly acclaimed Maury Yeston Songbook. Chaffin's third solo album, When the Wind Blows South, is out now.

Anthony D'Amato is a singer, actor, recording artist, songwriter music director and vocal coach. His credits include the music comedy duo Ike & Mike, featured and supporting roles in shows such as Grease!, Assassins, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Hair, The Rocky Horror Show, The Wiz, Titanic the musical, Guys and Dolls, Evita, and Corpus Christi, among others.

Bill Gross returns to BRT for the fourth time, having last performed in this past summer's This is the Moment. His New York credits include Sondheim's Children and Art at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre, and the off-Broadway premiere of Beowulf at the Irish Repertory Theatre. A Julliard graduate, Gross has worked regionally at such theatres as the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Houston's Theatre Under the Stars, and Boston's Huntington Theatre. Gross is also currently performing a one-man show in New York on his nights off from the musicale.

Steven Stein-Grainger has performed at BRT in numerous Summer Musicales, most recently this past summer's This is the Moment, as well as in A Little Night Music and Forget Herostratus. He made his Broadway debut in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard and has played in the U.S. National Tour and Toronto productions of The Phantom of the Opera as Paris Opera tenor Ubaldo Piangi. Up next for Stein-Grainger is an international tour of Fiddler On The Roof.

The band features Keith Baker (keyboard), Jon Ball (percussion), Bob Gargiullo (bass), Neil Nemetz (guitar), and Claudia Pellegrini (violin).

Since 1986, BRT has brought consistently acclaimed professional theatre to Bucks County and maintained a long-term commitment to finding and developing new plays.
