Bowman Dance Company & School has announced a summer full of creative programs that are now open for registration. The dance studio right in the heart of Montgomery County is offering two different programs this summer. The studio is offering a two-week Summer Dance Intensive starting Monday, July 9th and three evening dance camps filled with fun activities, dance and new friends. All programs will take place a Bowman Dance Company and School, 107 Dekalb Street. Registration and more information can be found online at www.bowmdance.com or by phone at 610-272-4850.

Bowman Dance Company & School is offering a two-week Summer Intensive Dance Program to kick off the summer. Intensives are set to run July 9-20, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The cost is $650 and it includes an impressive week of classes. Intensives are specifically designed for dancers ages 7 and up, who would like to take on more performance responsibility, who dream of becoming professional teachers or dancers someday, or simply those who are hungry for exhilarating and daring movement. During this two-week intensive, students will have the opportunity to work with most of our teachers, learn fresh new choreography from celebrated New York and L.A. choreographers in our new partnership with CLI Studios in California, highlight their strengths and make progress on their weaknesses, while getting a taste of the rigorous schedule of a professional dancer. Other classes include injury prevention, stretching and strengthening techniques, the art of improvisation, and the basics of choreography. Dancers will need to bring a bottle of water and a bag lunch daily.

BDCS offers three Summer Camps with a twist. The studio's summer camps will run in the evenings - providing creative fun for dancers ages 2-15. Summer Camps begin with a treat for campers ages 2-5. Those campers will journey to the Polynesian islands and spend the evening with everyone's favorite friends from the islands with a Moana themed camp. This fun-filled week is for children ages 2-5. It will run Monday-Friday July 23-27 from 5-6:30 p.m. The cost is $190 and throughout the week, campers will celebrate Polynesian culture with Disney's beloved Pacific Islander Princess, Moana. In this week-long adventure, dancers will escape to the tropical corners of their imagination, sing along with their favorite newer Disney Classics, create fun Moana-inspired arts and crafts, and learn brand new dance steps, including the basics of Polynesian dance.

After the littlest campers come back from the Pacific Islands, BDCS is hosting a Leap! themed camp for campers ages 6-11. As a reminder, this evening dance camp will take place Monday, July 30th- Friday August 3rd from 6:00- 8:00 pm, and the cost is $200. Using the movie, Leap! as springboard, campers will enter the mysterious and beautiful world of Paris in the 19th century, right at the height of The Paris Opera Ballet's rise to success. During this week-long departure to the City of Lights, students will brush up on their French ballet terminology and dance history knowledge, design exquisite crafts, and dance the evenings away with a sampling of all styles of dance offered at BDCS including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and acro.

The evening summer camps close with a glittery tribute to show life and one of the most popular movies out right now with a The Greatest Showman themed camp. This sensational dance camp will take place Monday, August 6- Friday, August 10 from 6:00- 9:00 pm, and the cost is $300. During our final Summer Dance Camp, students ages 12-15 will celebrate the fantastical circus portrayed in the new musical hit, The Greatest Showman. With an emphasis given on acrobatics, musical theater, hip hop, and jazz dance, your dancer will leave the week feeling inspired and more confident. The possibility for fun is exponential, and our teachers are hard at work preparing crafts, choreography, and the incorporation of musical elements that will challenge and motivate dancers of all levels.

"We create a unique experience for our dance camp students to learn the art of dance, ignite creativity, and embody the fun that is Summer! Come join us this to create your unique adventure in dance," said BDCS Owner and Director Heather Wrubel.
