On Monday, April 29, Ramin Karimloo visited the University of Texas Austin Campus and spent time with some students doing a Master Class. Ramin and I got a chance to catch up and find out what his plans for this tour are and what the future holds for him.
Check out the exclusive interview and photos below!
The entire day was an experience most will never forget and they learned so much from him. Many students shared their feelings about working with Ramin.
Quinton (College Freshman) - "Performing with Ramin and his band was so exhilarating!! I was so excited and grateful to get the opportunity. It was so cool to perform with an artist of his caliber. That was the first time I have ever sang with professionals like that. It was almost as if I was getting a sweet, little taste of The Big Time."
Claire (High School Senior) - "First of all, I had a wonderful experience with him (Ramin) and I am so grateful! The biggest thing I learned from working with Ramin is that there are always opportunities for learning no matter what your role is onstage and he emphasized that you should take advantage of every learning opportunity. Always be growing and evolving as an artist. I also was very impressed with how he treated those around him. He treated everyone with equal respect. He was so generous on and off stage with everyone including me. I also enjoyed the many styles he incorporated into his show. I loved the 'Broadway to Bluegrass' concept and the belief that a singer can cross over into many different styles of music."
Conner (High School Senior) - "One of the things that I learned is confidence in that I'm now not afraid at all to meet or work with anyone in the professional world. I've learned what it's like to absolutely be yourself and be professional at all times. You can't get nervous working with someone of that caliber and just working with him over time now, I really learned how important that is and that's carried over into my work ethic everywhere I go. I can be professional and have confidence in everything I do."
Austin (High School Senior) - "In the acting world, he's taught me you take real aspects from people and you apply them to your characters and that's what makes people love theater. It's this essence of confidence that rubs off on you. You can carry that with you when you see these professional people and you want to be more like them."
Rebeca (High School Senior) - "We actually got to perform with him at his last concert. We sing but we never had that confidence. He gave us that opportunity. He gave us the confidence in our talent and in ourselves that helped us develop our skills and do what we do now. He helped us with that. And he also showed us a whole new world. Seeing this whole new professional world where you're no longer a high school student, you have to be professional the whole time. You have to worry about taking care of other people, not just yourself. That was something that I personally can apply in my future."
Kirsten (High School Senior) - "Along with all of that, this is something that I want to do eventually. I'm going to college to be a musical theater major so this really gave me a chance to learn about what it is to be a professional musician and logistics of what's going to happen. I go into this field with my eyes wide open knowing exactly what I'm going to have to do."
