B. Someday Productions and The Mermaid Inn join forces for a Fundraiser for B. Someday's educational outreach program, held at The Mermaid Inn, Tuesday, April 17 from 7-9pm. Teen participants from B. Someday's Barrymore Award-winning outreach program will perform excerpts of their original piece entitled "Wake Up and Change The World!" After the performance, there will be a discussion about the issues, and an opportunity to speak to the student performers and teaching artists.

The cost is free for this program, however, since it is a fundraiser, a donation of $20.00 or more to B. Someday Productions is appreciated to help support the important outreach program, Of Mythic Proportions. The Mermaid Inn has food and beverages on the menu as well.

OF MYTHIC PROPORTIONS is an in-school theatre education program. B. Someday has worked with student's from Kensington's Mariana Bracetti Academy for the past five years, sending teaching artists into the classroom to help students take stories from their own lives and transform them into a piece of live theatre. The students then perform their piece for other students and the public. This is an anti-violence program, created from the 9th-12th grade student's personal stories about growing up in Kensington and how violence has become a part of their lives.

The Special Performance of Of Mythic Proportions will be a tribute to how using our creative energies, and through the magic of art and live theatre, we can transform our tragedies into something that transcends our daily lives. "I think all will agree with me that when you see this production, you will see how these young people are creating a space for peace in their lives, and how they consciously choose creating over violence," states program director, Michelle Pauls.
