Comedian Aziz Ansari brings Buried Alive Tour to Philadelphia with stand-up comedic performance scheduled on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the Merriam Theater. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, March 2 at 10 a.m.

Ansari has quickly established his presence in the comedy world. He is currently starring in the popular NBC series, Parks and Recreation, is developing a number of films, including providing his voice to a character in Ice Age: Continental Drift, and will soon debut his second hour-long standup special. In addition, Paste magazine has named him one of the “Top 10 Comedians of the Decade.” Ansari also wrapped a much buzzed about gig as the host of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.

Tickets for comedian Aziz Ansari are available at $35 to $45, and can be purchased by calling 215-893-1999, online at kimmelcenter.org, or at the Kimmel Center Box Office located on Broad and Spruce streets, Philadelphia, Pa. (open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., later on performance evenings). 

Aziz Ansari co-stars opposite of Amy Poehler in the Emmy nominated NBC series, Parks and Recreation, which is currently in its fourth season. The series received its first Emmy nomination in 2011 for Outstanding Comedy Series. Ansari’s portrayal of government employee, Tom Haverford, has earned him much critical praise.
