Annenberg Center Live Presents Béla Fleck, Zakir Hussain, And Edgar Meyer, With Special Guest Rakesh Chaurasia ImageAnnenberg Center Live presents banjoist Béla Fleck, tabla player Zakir Hussain, and bassist Edgar Meyer in an evening of world music fusion, Sunday, November 11. The group will be joined by special guest Rakesh Chaurasia on banusuri (Indian flute). Tickets are available at AnnenbergCenter.org or 215.898.3900.

These music masters-Béla Fleck, Zakir Hussain, and Edgar Meyer--regularly obliterate musical borders and traverse new frontiers, sharing the stage to unite the worlds of classical, bluegrass and world music. Each individually known as an innovator and virtuoso, their original trio music explores the connections between American roots and the classical Indian tradition. Fleck notes "We all provide things that differ from each other. Edgar brings in a powerful bass sense, and accesses levels of harmony that neither Zakir nor I can offer; he's really figured out how to interface harmony with Indian music." Adds Hussain, "Rakesh is the finest young bamboo flutist of Indian classical music and a natural fit with our trio," and Meyer concludes "I'm looking forward to a great four-way dialogue, and it will be unique!"
