A 'MOST AWKWARD' Play Comes to Philadelphia Fringe This Sept

THE MOST AWKWARD LOVE LIFE OF PEABODY MAGOO, an awkward new play by Brandon Monokian, will be presented at the William Way LGBT Community Center, September 4th - 19th, as a part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.

The show, directed by Monokian with assistant director Misha Osherovich, will star Scott Brieden, Katie Frazer, Caitlin Gutches, and Michelle Lupo. All Friday performances will be at 6pm, with Saturday and Sunday performances at 2pm.

The play follows the trials and tribulations of the horribly awkward Peabody Magoo. Yes, that's two cartoon character names in one. First name: a cartoon dog. Last name: an old man who's face looks like a scrotum. The play is a 45 minute, tragically adorable search for love, featuring live music and hearts made out of construction paper.

Playwright Monokian's Peter Pan is Dead performed at the 2014 Philly Fringe. Recently he wrote and starred in the upcoming feature film Happy Yummy Chicken, which also stars Taryn Manning, Diane Guerrero and Emma Myles of Orange is the New Black and Suzzanne Douglas of How Stella Got Her Groove Back and Lifetime's Whitney. The rest of the Peabody Magoo company also worked on the film both on screen and behind the scenes.
