3 Wishes, conceived by Michelle Pauls and Gerald van Wilgen, is inspired by the successes of the book 50 Shades of Grey, by E.L. James.
It's 1952. Prudish Cornella Jansen, female executive, raised by rigid Victorians, offers a plumber three wishes. Obediently she executes his demands. Her discoveries are beyond her wildest dreams. This play is for adults only.
Members of the Press are invited to Opening Night on Thursday, September 13 @ 9:00 pm for 3 WISHES, at Walking Fish Theatre, 2509 Frankford Avenue.
The playwright of 3 Wishes, Gerald van Wilgen, was inspired by the wildly popular 50 Shades of Grey, by E.L. James. He tapped into the wishes and needs of the demographic serviced by James. 3 Wishes takes place in an American city in the 1950’s where it was not usual for a woman to rise to such prominence in the workplace. Cornella rises to the top of the company, but has to pay a price. How far have we come—how are women still “paying the price?”
