When Sir Charles Baskerville is found dead on his estate with a look of terror still etched on his face and the paw print of a gigantic hound beside his body, the celebrated detective Sherlock Holmes is summoned from Baker Street with Dr Watson in tow to unravel the mystery and to investigate the ancient curse of the Baskervilles.
So begins this madcap, hilarious take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s best known Sherlock Holmes story - THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES presented by Harbour Theatre for their final production of 2016.
Fans of John Cleese, Michael Palin, and the antics of Monty Python’s Flying Circus will recognise the mad, deadly serious, and uniquely British hilarity that ensues when three actors fearlessly retell this favourite story: improvising props, costumes and scenery and playing all the roles themselves. Directed by renowned director Trevor Dhu this sublimely funny yet meticulously faithful adaptation of Conan Doyle’s beloved novel is full of verbal and visual ingenuity and promises to be the laugh-out-loud community theatre event of the Christmas Season.
