South Pacific at Crown Theatre Perth

Acclaimed opera star Teddy Tahu Rhodes and Australia's best loved and four time Gold Logie award-winning actress Lisa McCune will head the stellar cast as Emile de Beque and Nellie Forebush. Sensational performer Christine Anu will play the role of Bloody Mary, following her highly successful appearances in the recent Brisbane season.

SOUTH PACIFIC, directed by Broadway dynamo Bartlett Sher, swept the 2008 Tony Awards and played to sold-out houses in New York for two and a half years before commencing a tour of the USA that continues today. A sell-out London Season was followed by a UK tour, before reaching Australian shores where it became a smash hit. The first Sydney season last winter, became the highest selling show ever performed at the Sydney Opera House.


Considered one of the finest musicals ever written, the score includes Some Enchanted Evening, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair and There is Nothin' Like a Dame. With a cast of 40 and a live orchestra, this international hit and landmark production will play Crown Theatre Perth for 4 weeks.

The Australia season of SOUTH PACIFIC marks the coming together of Australia's largest performing arts company, Opera Australia, with Australia’s largest commercial theatre producer, John Frost. The new partnership plans to present some of the finest works of the music theatre repertoire in forthcoming years, and is delighted to be commencing with SOUTH PACIFIC one of the greatest musicals ever written.
