Last October Australian singer songwriter PAUL KELLY released his 19th studio album ‘Spring And Fall’. This July and August he will be touring cities and towns around Australia performing the record in its entirety, followed by a generous selection of older songs. This selection will change from night to night and will include well-known songs and a few surprises.
Paul recently said on stage in the USA where he is currently touring to rave reviews: "‘Spring and Fall’ is a song cycle which is just a fancy way of saying - if you listen to the songs in order they tell a story. Each song links to the next and the whole piece is a love story told from multiple points of view."
The band touring with Paul will be Dan Kelly on guitar and vocals; J. Walker, who co-produced and played on the album; Zoe Hauptmann on bass (who recently performed on the Finn and Kelly tour) and Bree Van Reyk (Holly Throsby, Seeker Lover Keeper) on drums.
Australian Music Prize Nominee, Hip Hop MC and Producer, URTHBOY, will be opening the show each night. Paul and Urthboy first worked together in 2008, when Urthboy reworked Paul and Kev Carmody's song From Little Things Big Things Grow to celebrate Kevin Rudd's apology to the Stolen Generations. More recently they have collaborated on a cover of the Hunters and Collectors song True Tears Of Joy.
