The much-loved and iconic Downstairs at The Maj will be bursting with activity in January and February with the launch of "ACE'S " - a season of carefully selected, exquisite cabaret as part of FRINGE WORLD Festival from 21 Jan to 18 Feb 2017.
ACE'S Producer David Read said the venue will host three polished shows nightly throughout the whole of Fringe World at 6pm, 7.30pm and 9pm along with a late-night Piano Bar with Trevor Jones on Sat 21 & 28 Jan 2017 @ 10.15pm
"While the nature of Fringe is to provide a stage to performers of all standards, we saw an opportunity to provide a curated season featuring highly credentialed acts, all presented in a comfortable environment for audiences," he said.
"Downstairs at The Maj provides seating at tables, food and drink service, all-important air-conditioning, all set in a stylish environment. It's also wheel-chair accessible and its CBD location makes it easy to get to for everyone." He said the venue would help to activate the CBD of a night this festival and joins its two main hubs of activity. "There's now an exciting pathway for fringe audiences - from Elizabeth Quay to the CBD to Northbridge and beyond."
Ginger and Tonic return with their new show For Love or Money featuring their powerful voices and tight harmonies that received high praise in FRINGE WORLD earlier this year. (Sat 21 Jan to 4 Feb) no show on Australia Day. See image attached.

The Dream Girls - The Sensational 60s, The music of the 1960s was about love, heartbreak and Elvis! Join The Dream Girls - Lisa Adam (Clinton The Musical, Jersey Boys), Darlene Gianoli (LA Gold) and Vanessa Raspa (Skyuka) and their six-piece band with a tribute to the golden era of music, performing songs from female artists and girls groups of the 1960s and some of Elvis Presley's biggest hits. ACE'S - a season of carefully selected, exquisite cabaret as part of FRINGEWORLD - is presented by the multiple award-winning Australian Cabaret Enterprises, who specialise in producing, promoting and touring cabaret. Previous shows have won multiple awards at Perth's FRINGE WORLD Festival. ACE produces the annual Melbourne Cabaret Festival, one of that city's major winter arts events, on behalf of its not-for-profit Board.
