Australian comedian and award-winning actor Kim Gyngell (The Comedy Company, Underbelly, Lowdown) will make his Western Australian stage debut for Perth Theatre Company in the WA premiere of British play, A Number by Caryl Churchill in the Studio Underground from tonight, 11 to 27 April 2013.

Tickets on sale now through ticketek.com.au or 1300 795 012. Perth Theatre Company member ticket packages may be purchased through: perththeatre.com.au/boxoffice or by calling (08) 6212 9399.

An outrageous experiment of nature versus nurture, A Number was first performed at the Royal Court Theatre in LonDon Starring Daniel Craig and Michael Gambon and received the Evening Standard Award for Best New Play.

A Number begins with a discovery. Bernard, played by 2011 Green Room Award-winning WAAPA graduate Brent Hill (Rock of Ages, The Producers) is not unique. He is one of many. Some thirty years ago his father (Gyngell) made the ill-fated decision to clone him. When the other clones arrive, chaos ensues, and Bernard realises he must put himself first, whatever the consequence.

"The degree of innovation is extraordinary. Every Caryl Churchill play almost reinvents the form of theatre." - Dominic Cooke, Artistic Director, Royal Court Theatre "A Number is a brilliant, not to be missed opportunity to see the work of one of the World's great contemporary playwrights in the hands of two of the country's finest comedic and dramatic stage actors. It's dangerous, funny, surprising and fiercely clever." said Melissa Cantwell, Artistic Director. A resident company of the State Theatre Centre of WA, Perth Theatre Company is Western Australia?s foremost Contemporary Theatre company that has been producing award-winning, professional theatre since 1983.
