FRONT Makes its WA Premiere Image

Michael Abercromby is once again calling Perth home. Launching SLATE a new theatre collective supporting emerging and established performing artists in the Perth theatre scene, the company's first production will be Abercromby's critically acclaimed work FRONT, a WA Premiere, and playing at the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia from the 18th - 26th January, as part of Fringe World Festival and Summer Nights.

Start a band, get famous, get screwed, get wasted, get fired, get petty, get knocked out on television. Get everything you ever wanted.

FRONT explores the blurred definition of success in today's music industry. Based on Abercromby's experience as a musician in Perth, the play follows local band Rough Cut Punt during their rapid rise to fame. With hilarious songs and boisterous characters, FRONT is a window into the often unseen drama of rehearsal rooms, green rooms, and studios, in an industry that promises intoxicating opportunities for those willing to pay the cost.

Featuring Perth's strongest emerging and established home-grown talents, including Isaac Diamond (Penthouse The Blue Room Theatre, Cloud Nine WaytCo, The Night Zoo Spare Parts Theatre), Oscar Harris (Top Knot Detective) and Mary Soudi (The Players Bell Shakespeare, Blame Traffic Twenty Seven Six, FRONT JackRabbit Theatre, The Pearl Fishers West Australian Opera, MINE WaytCo and front woman and bassist of Perth band Boys Boys Boys!) FRONT is set to to be a highlight of the Fringe World Festival season.

Playing at the State Theatre Centre of WA from the 18th - 26th January, don't miss this dynamic, modern piece of theatre.

Directed, Written & Designed by Michael Abercromby, produced by Loredana Cross, with Isaac Diamond, Oscar Harris, Adam Marks, Mikayla Merks, Mary Soudi and Harrison Targett.
