Nick Jr. and Life Like Touring have announced that due to popular demand, new shows have been added to the 2014 tour schedule of Dora's Pirate Adventure. Dora the Explorer and her friends will visit Brisbane and the Gold Coast, along with Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth in September this year.

Tickets to the new shows are on sale from today: 3:30pm on Tuesday 2 September in Brisbane, 3:30pm on Thursday 11 September in Melbourne and 3:30pm on Saturday 20 September in Perth. Ticketing outlets detailed below.

The live-in-theatres Dora's Pirate Adventure will incorporate the same inspired interactive and educational elements that make Dora the Explorer one of the most watched pre school television shows in the world. So far this year, over 1 million Australian viewers have seen Dora The Explorer on Nick Jr. (Channel 703), where it airs daily.

Dora's Pirate Adventure will feature top quality colourful costumes, richly detailed sets and high production values that are the mark of Life Like Touring has become known for worldwide.

Join Dora and her friends as they embark on an exciting trip to Treasure Island in search of the ultimate pirate party. Help them navigate over the Dancing Mountain and through the Silly Singing Bridge in pursuit of the Pirate Piggies. Along the way, Dora the Explorer fans will use their map-reading, counting, musical and language skills to successfully help Dora reach Treasure Island and avoid that pesky fox, Swiper!

"As both a channel favourite, and Nick Jr.'s number one pre-school show for more than a decade, it's clear that Dora resonates with mums and kids alike," said Ben Richardson, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Viacom International Media Networks Australia. "It's fantastic that we're able to continue to bring her messages of fun and empowerment to a live audience with Dora's Pirate Adventure."

Life Like Touring's two live Dora the Explorer stage shows have enjoyed considerable success locally and around the world. Since its premiere last year, Nick Jr.'s Dora the Explorer Live! Dora's Pirate Adventure has toured to India and will soon open in Singapore, followed by Bahrain before its Australian return season this September.

The company's first production -- Nick Jr.'s Dora the Explorer Live! Search for the City of Lost Toys launched in Australia four years ago and was so well received it returned to Australia twice by popular demand. Search for the City of Lost Toys has now been seen by over two million people worldwide including audiences in the United Kingdom, Egypt, Kuwait, Russia, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Singapore and New Zealand.

Dora the Explorer is a play-along, animated adventure TV series following Dora and her best friend, Boots as they explore their world, just like pre-schoolers do. The show is designed to encourage and empower kids to communicate, solve puzzles and discover a diverse and exciting world through an interactive format.

Since its launch on Nickelodeon in 2000, Dora the Explorer has emerged as a global phenomenon seen around the world and translated into more than 30 languages. The show has received numerous international industry awards including the Peabody, NAACP, Alma, Latino Spirit, Gracie Allen, several Parents' Choice Awards, the Television Critics Association award and 15 Daytime Emmy nominations.
