BLACK SWAN State Theatre Company presents in association with the Perth Theatre Trust the Australian premiere of Clinton: The Musical from Sat 27 August to Sunday 11 September 2016 in the Heath Ledger Theatre, State Theatre Centre of WA.

Penned by Australian brothers, Michael Hodge and Paul Hodge, the production has met with great success in Edinburgh and New York, but has never been done in Australia. BLACK SWAN brings this bawdy, vulgar, shameless production to the Heath Ledger stage, just in time for the lead up to another US Presidential election drama. Delightfully wicked, get ready for a shamelessly fun night out at the theatre.

Bill Clinton has always been a duplicitous figure, represented in this production by two actors portraying the opposing sides of the one man: WJ Clinton, the sober, wise leader poised to make great strides to major socio-political change; and Billy, the reckless, fun, and decidedly unprofessional. The musical follows Clinton throughout his turbulent presidential career and explores this duality alongside his ever-faithful wife, Hillary, the intern who brought them all down, and a host of other political players.

Subsequent to his great success directing the musical Next to Normal, Adam Mitchell will bring this hilarious musical to life with a phenomenal cast: Lisa Adam (Jersey Boys, The Rocky Horror Show), Simon Burke AO (The Sound of Music, Phantom of the Opera), Matt Dyktynski (Extinction), BrenDan Hanson (Next to Normal, As You Like It), Luke Hewitt (A Perfect Specimen, Glengarry Glen Ross), Megan Kozak (Urinetown, Legally Blonde) and Clare Moore (A Rhapsody in Red ).
