The show, which is about a group of people who come together to put on a Broadway musical was developed by NBC's Robert Greenblatt, Steven Spielberg, and Broadway producing team Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Broadway's Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (HAIRSPRAY, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN), wrote the music for the show. Michael Mayer directed the project, and playwright Theresa Rebeck penned the script. NBC's upcoming anticipated show SMASH will be premiering on February 6, 2012 on Mondays at 10/9 C. The show will star Debra Messing, Anjelica Huston, Katherine McPhee, Brian d'Arch James and Megan Hilty.

The soundtrack to the highly anticipated NBC drama series SMASH on Columbia Records will include an original song by SMASH leading lady and American Idol alum Katharine McPhee titled, 'Let Me Be Your Star'. The duet features SMASH co-star Megan Hilty.

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN played its final performance yesterday, September 4, 2011 at The Neil Simon Theatre, 250 W. 52nd Street. The musical has played 32 preview and 170 regular performances. The first national tour will launch in the Fall of 2012 at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI.

The John W. Engeman Theater presents Hairspray, the first show of their 5th Season. Playing now through August 28, 2011. Hairspray is based on the film written and directed by John Waters, music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan.

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN captures the astonishing true story of Frank Abagnale, Jr., a world-class con artist who passed himself off as a doctor, a lawyer, and a jet pilot-all before the age of 21. With straight-arrow FBI agent Carl Hanratty on Frank's trail, we're off on a jet-setting, cat-and-mouse chase, as a jazzy, swinging-sixties score keeps this adventure in constant motion. In the end, Agent Hanratty learns he and Frank aren't so very different after all, and Frank finds out what happens when love catches up to a man on the run.
