The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards is airing live coast to coast tonight, on August 29 (8-11 p.m. EST) on NBC, originating from the Nokia Theatre L.A. in Los Angeles. The awards are being produced by Don Mischer and hosted by Jimmy Fallon. The cast of GLEE opening the show in a musical skit with the help of Emmy host Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey and Kate Gosselin. SAN DIEGO REPERTORY THEATRE in partnership with THE SAN DIEGO SCHOOL OF CREATIVE AND PERFORMING ARTS (SCPA) is proud to present Southern California's first regional production of the hit musical comedy HAIRSPRAY. For the first time in local theatre history, high school students from SCPA will join professional actors on stage for this big fat, gorgeous musical. Directed by San Diego REP Artistic Director SAM WOODHOUSE with assistance from SCPA's Artistic Director RICHARD TRUJILLO, the REP's presentation of HAIRSPRAY will mark the first time the musical has been produced as a regional theatre production in Southern California. Performances continue through Sunday, August 15, 2010.

In celebration of the 20th edition of BROADWAY BARES, Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS and Jerry Mitchell announced the upcoming release of BROADWAY BARES OPENINGS, a CD of 13 original opening numbers from BC/EFA's popular annual burlesque show. Each song is recorded by the Broadway stars who debuted them on the BROADWAY BARES stage.

Day 4 has Seth deconstructing Capathia Jenkins in FAME BECOMES ME. Seth writes ' This score is never talked about. Capathia is fantastic and so is everyone else in the cast. Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman wrote it!'

BWW Exclusive: After 7 years on the road, the National Tour of the Tony® Award-winning hit broadway musical HAIRSPRAY played its final show in Riverside, CA over the weekend of April 24-25, 2010. In a video exclusively produced for BroadwayWorld, cast member Kyle Kleiboeker (Fender) gives us an inside look backstage for a behind-the-scenes peek at how this cast prepares for the show. Kleiboeker previously produced a popular online video series when he was a cast member of the national touring company of THE WEDDING SINGER.

The German cast of HAIRSPRAY appeared on the TV Show 'Wetten, Daas...?' on December 5, 2009 to celebrate the opening of the new production. The show is currently booked through 31 March 2010 at the Musical Dome in Cologne, Germany.
