Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Sandra Okuboyejo is a first-generation Nigerian-American actor, writer and narrator. Broadway/Tour: "Hamilton" (Cover Eliza, Angelica, Peggy). Off-Broadway: “Nollywood Dreams" (Ayamma) at MCC, Ragtime on Ellis Island (Sarah). Regional: "Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812" (Natasha) at PCLO. Tv credits: Recurring on ‘Dr.Death’ Season 2, and Guest Starring on ‘Tommy’ and ‘The Blacklist’. Film credits: leading ‘The Gag’, opposite Sheri Renee Scott, premiering at Tribeca Film Festival 2023. Her original musical "Halona & Ophelia", where she helms book, music and lyrics was named a 2023 Jonathan Larson Grant finalist and 2024 NAMT semi-finalist. Additionally an accomplished voice-over artist, featured in audiobooks and productions like Jordan Peele's "Out There Screaming”, she’s earned starred reviews from Booklist and multiple earphones awards. MCC Theater announced today that the upcoming engagement of Nollywood Dreams will reunite the entire cast from the 2020 MCC production that was postponed due to the theater shutdown.
