Essential Voices USA, Judith Clurman, Music Director and Conductor, announces the release of CHRISTMAS JOY, a new collection of holiday music that was all recently commissioned by Essential Voices USA.

MADam LUCY Deceased will be presented three times in a second staged workshop at William & Mary in the new Phi Beta Kappa Hall Studio Theatre between Oct. 20-22, 2023, during Homecoming & Reunion Weekend.

MADam LUCY, deceased, a new musical about the life (and afterlife) of Lucy Ludwell Paradise (1752-1814), with book & lyrics by two-time Emmy Award-winning songwriter William Schermerhorn and music by composer and recording artist Elise Morris, will have its first staged workshop in Williamsburg, Virginia, in the historic Great Hall of the Sir Christopher Wren Building on the campus of William & Mary.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Nicole Henry in Set for the Season, a warm and spirited collection of songs to celebrate December - a month set aside for gifting, family, joy, memories, and spiritual reflections.  Ms. Henry recorded the first iteration of this "set" in Tokyo, 2010 for a live CD - and now after a handful of additions and subtractions to the setlist, she debuts it in NYC.  No stranger to Feinstein's, this marks Nicole Henry's seventh solo appearance at this NYC institution (including the original on Park Avenue), coupled with a number of national concert collaborations with its namesake, Michael Feinstein.

Colonial Williamsburg invites revelers to an evening of 18th-century-inspired entertainment and frivolity at Mr. Jefferson's Palace Garden Party from 7-9 p.m. on May 4, featuring a timeless performance by star of stage and screen Betty Buckley, a 2018 Colonial Williamsburg Revolutionary in Residence.

On Friday, May 19, 2017 at 9:30 pm at Feinstein's/54 Below, 'Central Park & Other Dreams,' under the musical direction of Marty Ashby, the GRAMMY Award Executive Producer of MCG Jazz, will celebrate the sights and sounds of the Big Apple with performances by the jazz world's coolest musicians, featuring multi-award winning artist Vivian Reed (Bubbling Brown Sugar) and internationally acclaimed vocalist and guitarist Allan Harris.

Last night, May 2, 2016, The New York Pops celebrated its 33rd birthday with a grand gala evening celebrating the revolutionary collaborations of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, the songwriting team behind LES MISERABLES, Miss Saigon, and more. Serving as Honorary Co-Chairs for the event were musical theatre legends Sir Cameron Mackintosh and Patti LuPone. On Saturday December 19 at 3 pm and 8 pm and on Sunday December 20 at 3 pm, the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) presented its annual Holiday Spectacular at the Alex Theatre, Glendale, this year entitled Brassy, Classy & Sassy! There's always diversity in the shows - it's what I like most - and this year, Acts One and Two of Brassy, Classy & Sassy!were as different as night and day. America's favorite holiday tradition will once again kick off the season of joy as the 89th Annual MACY'STHANKSGIVING DAY PARADE returns to march down the streets of New York on Thursday, November 26. 'This Is Cabaret', the NPR Radio Program hosted by Ann Hampton Callaway taped two segments before a live audience at Birdland yesterday and BroadwayWorld was there.

The collaboration between Ann Hampton Callaway and lyricist William Schermerhorn on the new holiday season CD called The Hope of Christmas is, alas, unsuccessful. Though Schermerhorn's lyrics can be pleasing, some worthy of considerable play, the over-produced collection burdens them with music that evokes not a moment of holiday feeling. There's swing, mute-horn jazz, samba, and a bit of New Orleans. Melodies are neither light, nor spiritual or celebratory.
