Adapted by William Kent Williams from Eleanor Estes' 1945 Newbery Honor-winning novel of the same title, The Hundred Dresses is the second play of Metro Theater Company's 46th season. Suitable for young theatre patrons, families, and for educators as well, this is the story of Wanda Petronski (Sophie Murk), a young Polish immigrant, who is the new kid in an American town.

Artistic Director of Print Room at the Coronet Anda Winters has curated a month-long festival representing the theatre's diverse, multi-artform programme and made up almost entirely of UK premieres. Coronet International Festival runs over 35 days and spans theatre, art, circus, dance, poetry and installations from around the globe. Featuring artists from 12 countries, the festival presents a fusion of international art works, crossing borders and genres and defying expectations.

A former semi-finalist and category winner of the National Youth Music Competition, Myles Roberts, returns this week triumphantly to the 2017-competition as the guest artist at the finalists' gala concert. The event is today 14 October at the Hugo Lambrechts Auditorium in Parow, Cape Town.

Ernie Nolan, Nashville Children's Theatre's new executive artistic director, makes an impressive debut with The Hundred Dresses, the initial show of his first official season as the leader of the country's oldest theater for younger audiences. Nolan's predecessor, the late and great Scot Copeland, led NCT through tremendous growth during his tenure and he is, without question, a hard act to follow.

Today, we very proudly shine the spotlight on PSM Daniel Brewer, the dean of production stage managers in this region, and the resident stage manager at Nashville Children's Theatre. In 2011, he was among that year's First Night Honorees in recognition of his truly exceptional career and for the grace and skill with which he does his job. In fact, we wouldn't be at all surprise to find his headshot next to the very definition of "stage manager" in reference books.
